Peace Is Found Inside the Thunder ⚡
"You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf." — Jon Kabat-Zinn
I used to think awareness would fix everything.
That if I could just be mindful enough, insightful enough, healed enough…
I’d no longer feel overwhelmed when life came crashing in.
I was wrong.
"Awareness doesn't prevent storms; it anchors you during them."
Because awareness doesn’t delete the storm.
It doesn’t make the waves less violent or the wind less sharp.
It doesn’t give you immunity from loss, betrayal, or the unexpected unraveling of what you thought was secure.
But it does something better…
It keeps you from losing yourself in it.
I’ve had moments where everything around me was chaos.
But inside there was a stillness.
A quiet part of me watching the storm instead of becoming it.
That wasn’t because I was enlightened.
It was because I had practiced being with myself when things were quiet.
And that practice became my anchor when things weren’t.
Awareness isn’t control.
It’s presence.
It’s remembering that pain can shake your world, but it doesn’t have to steal your center.
⚓ Want to Build an Inner Anchor That Holds?
The 30-Day Shadow Integration Journal is a guided return to that center.
Not by bypassing the storm, but by learning how to remain conscious within it.
Awareness doesn’t erase the waves.
It helps you remember: You’re not the water. You’re the witness.
Daily inner work.
Ask yourself today:
“When things fall apart, what part of me do I lose first?”
Then write this:
“What part of me do I want to stay rooted in—even when everything around me is shaking?”
That’s your anchor.
Name it. Then return to it often.
Not just when you need it, but especially before you do.
Let’s talk about it.
What has kept you grounded during your hardest storms?
Was it a practice? A belief? A truth that refused to leave you?
Or did you fall apart, and then realize there was something inside you still holding on?
Share it.
Your anchor might become someone else’s lifeline.
All in all.
Awareness won’t prevent heartbreak.
It won’t guarantee clarity, peace, or certainty.
But it will give you a choice.
To respond instead of react.
To witness instead of drown.
To return to yourself when everything else is trying to pull you away.
Storms will come.
But if you’ve anchored into something honest…
You’ll bend. You’ll sway.
But you won’t be lost.
These small notes arrive quietly,
like morning light through a cracked window.
No noise. Just truth.

Thanks for reading today’s Healing Text.
If you’re here, you’re part of something honest, something that makes space for healing without the performance. And I don’t take that lightly.
If today’s message met you where you are, and you’d like to support the work, here are a few simple ways to do that:
→ [Buy me a coffee ☕️]
→ [Grab a book 📖]
→ [Rock some merch 👕]
And if you’re craving deeper reflections, long-form stories, raw journal entries, and shadow work tales that cut through the noise, I write those in my other newsletter…
Whether you support with a share, a coffee, or just by showing up… thank you.
With gratitude,
